X-RAY

Proper examination is the first and most important step in any medical practice. In our pursuit of better care for you, we only use digital x-rays in our office, reducing the amount of radiation by almost 80% compared to traditional x-rays.

CLEANING

CLEANING
We’ll begin by performing a check on your teeth and gums and requesting information regarding your overall health and medical history. Following this we’ll clean and polish your teeth and share steps to improve your oral health. When we’ve completed your exam and cleaning we will discuss any treatment you might need and answer any questions you have.

CLEANING

There are three different procedures that will remove plaque and bacteria from your teeth. Your dentist will discuss with you which one is recommended

  1. Prophy – This is the most basic cleaning method for patients in good dental health. Each patient will receive a prophylaxis, which removes plaque on teeth and the gum line.

  2. Full Mouth Debridement – If you have gingivitis, you may require a full mouth debridement to remove plaque on the teeth and gum line.

  3. Scaling and Root Planing – If you have active periodontal disease, your dentist will discuss the benefits of this non-surgical treatment which will help remove build-up and smooth root surfaces. This procedure will sometimes require multiple visits and regular maintenance.

FILLINGS

Dental fillings will be completed as quickly and painlessly as possible. The dentist will remove all decayed and unhealthy areas of the tooth to prevent further tooth decay.
As your dental health partner, we want to help you to prevent cavities and keep your smile healthy. Always brush twice a day, in the morning and evening. Remember to floss to remove plaque from between teeth. Your dental health is a part of your overall health. To help aid your overall health, don’t forget to eat a healthy, balanced diet. Avoid foods that will stick between your teeth as well as sodas and juices high in sugar. Reach for water instead!

ROOT CANALS

A root canal is the process of removing swollen or infected tissue within a tooth to prevent pain and/or stop the infection. In many cases, a tooth treated with a root canal will require a crown for the best possible outcome.

SEALANTS

Dental sealants are a type of plastic coating that will act as a barrier on teeth, protecting cavity-prone areas. Usually applied to chewing surfaces of back teeth, they are used to cover deep pits and grooves in teeth. Sealing a tooth is fast and easy and protects teeth from decay. While sealants are an added protection against decay, it is still important to brush and floss every day.

CROWNS

A crown is a dental restoration procedure that covers an existing tooth. This restoration will improve the appearance of the tooth and strengthen it. Crowns serve to protect a fractured tooth as well as help cover those that are discolored and misshapen.
Each crown is custom made and will require multiple visits. During your first visit, any tooth decay will be removed and we will place a temporary crown on the tooth. During the second visit, your permanent crown will be placed on the tooth and adjusted.

EXTRACTION

There are some times when a tooth is beyond saving. This is when one of our dentists will carefully remove the tooth to reduce pain and prevent infection.

DENTURES AND BRIDGES

If you have one or more missing teeth, partial dentures or bridges can improve dental health by filling in any gaps in your teeth.

PERIODONTAL OR GUM DISEASE CARE

Your gums play a large role in your oral health. Occasionally, issues may arise with your gums which may affect the health of your teeth. We can provide you with a solution for periodontal and gum disease. Our dentists will discuss a treatment plan with you.

COSMETIC DENTISTRY
WHITENING

Your teeth can be stained over time by certain types of food and drink, such as coffee or tea. We offer whitening services which can quickly improve the appearance of your smile by removing stains from your teeth. Familia can provide you with either a take-home kit or an in-office whitening. In-office whitening are considerably faster than the take home kit allowing you to smile brighter sooner. A take-home kit takes additional time, but can be done in the comfort of your own home.

VENEERS

Made from a very thin layer of porcelain, veneers are cosmetic tools which can immediately improve the appearance of your smile while maintaining its natural beauty. Veneers are bonded to your existing teeth, improving the appearance of chipped, broken, cracked, misshapen or discolored teeth.

TOOTH BONDING

The application of tooth colored filling material (composite) to the teeth has been a dental technique for many years. Recent advances in technology have increased the strength, durability and longevity of these restorations. Bonding can be used to restore decayed teeth, close spaces between teeth, repair chips, correct discoloration, and straighten misaligned teeth.

ORAL SURGERY

Teeth can be damaged due to decay, a root fracture or trauma to the tooth. In children, some primary teeth may not fall out and will require extraction in order for the permanent teeth to erupt.

WISDOM TEETH

Wisdom teeth are the last set of teeth to come in. They will grow in at the back of your mouth, sometimes crowding out the other teeth in your mouth. If this occurs, the dentist will determine whether or not the wisdom teeth will need to be removed.
With any case of oral surgery our dentists and staff will cover the necessary procedures and treatment. Our dentists will answer any questions regarding this treatment.
